As the design lead for Uber Health, I was responsible for creating the overall strategy and vision for the accelerated growth of the product. This included developing differentiated and compelling value propositions, as well as designing and implementing new features that would help to eliminate transportation as a barrier for care to those who need it most.

A simplified, mobile friendly experience was conceived for users on-the-go and for those who need to access the full functionality of the Uber Health platform in an easily digestible way. By giving users the right information at the right time, we were able to condense the information-rich ride tracking and booking features into easily accessible actions, while helping to prevent information overload.

Business impact

There's an estimated $15 billion market opportunity in transporting patients to their appointments and reducing the cost of no-shows. Additionally, with the majority of rides occurring during off-peak hours, Uber Health creates trips that otherwise wouldn't exist in Uber's ridesharing portfolio. This not only helps to improve the overall margins for the company, but also provides drivers with increased opportunities during the slower hours of the day.

With 1.2 million active users and over 1000 key partnerships, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the U.S. Government, and Logisticare, Uber Health will continue to be a driving factor in helping Uber reach profitability.
